Here are some pics from the April 4-5, 1998 canoe trip on the South Branch of the Potomac River near Petersburg, West VA. We went through the beautiful Smoke Hole Canyon which is very primitive, no roads, the only way in is by hikin or caonoein!
The weather was good, high 60's during the day with no clouds, 50s on Sat night. But, as
Toni and John forecasted therefore they opted to miss out on this opportunity an couldn't find their hair nets, it rained all day
on Sunday! Charlie, being the smart one, brought his canopy so we could have a dry breakfast.
Cory and Matt decided they were too hot cause they went swimming twice, the last one on the haystacks.
When we took out, Charlie's van had a flat tire and a dead battery!
There were 7 of us: Charlie, Steve, Mike, Dave S, Jim and Dave M, Cory and Matt
Note: somehow we didn't get around to any pics on sunday.
