• TOVS refers to the HIRS, MSU, SSU and AVHRR suite of radiometers onboard NOAA polar orbiting satellites through NOAA-14.
• ATOVS refers to the HIRS, AMSU-A, AMSU-B and AVHRR suite of radiometers currently onboard NOAA-15, and planned through the Year 2010.
